Welcome to ELS!

My name is Michael Zore, and I’m here to help you become a better leader. Your position and power may vary. Some of us lead large organizations, others could fit their entire organization into the front seat of an Uber and still leave room for the driver. Some of us have Type-A personalities and wear those t-shirts that say “things work better when you do what I say” while others of us prefer to engage others in our projects and prefer collaboration over direction.

Each of us leads in our own way, with our own strengths and weaknesses. If you’re here now, though I also know that you are interested in becoming a better leader and I am here to help you do just that. On this site, you’ll find information about leadership, tools to understand yourself and your leadership styles better, training to help develop your skills, and a supportive, challenging network of peers to walk with you as you turn these strategies into reality.

I’ve spent a lot of time, effort, and and money studying effective leadership. I’ve dug deep into the theoretical models that underpin our efforts. My educational background includes two Master’s degrees, one in Leadership Studies with a focus on Organizational Behavior and in Dispute Resolution, understanding the causes of conflict and effective ways to respond to resolve those conflicts. My leadership experience is also intensely practical: I’ve been in and led multi-national and multi-cultural projects teams, advised boards, served under good and bad bosses, and run successful and some not-so-successful small businesses.

All of this has taught me three things. First, every leader needs to lead in their own way. Your personality, experiences, preferences, and history make you different from everyone else eon this planet. Your leadership style is just as unique. The ideal isn’t to turn you into a clone of some other famous person, it is to become the best “you” you can be.

Secondly, everyone can become a better leader. Quantum physics tells us that the process of observing changes reality. In the same way, the process of understanding your leadership style will change the way you lead. You will never be a perfect leader, because there is not such thing.

Finally, every leader needs resources to improve. My site is here to help you find the tools, training, and information you need to take those steps toward becoming a more complete, a more effective, and a more satisfied leader.
